Home Office Decor Tips For An Effective Work Space

Have you been working from home for some time already because of the current pandemic situation? Whatever your circumstances, working from home is likely playing a larger part in your life, or that of people you live with, than it ever has before. If you are tired of working in your current ‘Home Office’ and would like to revamp and recreate an effective work space to increase in productivity, let these different home office examples inspire you and lead your way to transform your home office space!

Tip 1: Greens – Adding houseplants to the space can help to purify the air, ease tension and lower stress, create a relaxed and happy ambience whilst helping you to ultimately work better through improved concentration, heightened attention, enhanced creativity, increased productivity and enriched overall well-being. The air purifying and filtering properties of indoor plants ultimately foster a healthier and happier working and living environment.

Tip 2: Minimalist – Less is more when it comes to minimalist design. Minimalism is all about physical space and mental space. A clear mind = greater focus and ultimately, increased productivity. Therefore, don’t try to overcrowd your workspace be it physical stuff or visual like colors. Keep clutter and ‘visual noise’ to a minimum.

Tip 3: Monotone or Light color scheme – We do recommend monotone like black or white for a more visually clean space or light colors such as white with oak or pinewood brown to brighten up the work space, making it feel larger and lighter than it really is.

Tip 4: Natural light & Artificial Light – If it is viable, try to have your office space near windows (best with window view) so as to have as much natural light as possible as sunlight can do wonders to your mood, energy levels and health. Artificial and task specific lighting  is as important too as it can reduce eyestrain and fatigue when the space is dim and subsequently, you guessed it, increased productivity.

Tip 5: Office Chairs – A high-quality office chair is one of the best investments you can make. You don’t need to go for the most expensive, just one that let you sit comfortably so you will not find excuses to get up and go somewhere else!

Tip 6: An Inspirational Quote – Is so important to stay motivated and encouraged during this season when there are just so many uncertainties and bad news. So be inspired and keep the positive vibes going with printed inspirational quote to greet you every day when you start work at your home office.

Tip 7: Gallery wall – An artwork has a huge role to play in having a big, positive impact on our workplace environment. Art pieces can make one  feel happier, more peaceful and more creative which are crucial when we spend long hours working in our home office.
