Modern Bathroom Interior Design & Decor

Bathroom has always been the most private and precious space in the house. So as we look into designing it, it should not only function well but it should be designed for optimal comfort and luxury. Today, we are exploring the modern bathroom style. This can mean different things to different people, but generally speaking, when we refer to modern design, some of the same concepts and strategies are often found: geometrical shapes, neutral or basic colors, little to no decorative flourishes, and natural materials.

Houseplants

Indoor plants are a great way to add a splash of fresh color to modern bathroom, creating a natural and eco friendly decor. They are ideal in creating a comfortable and calming atmosphere. Choose tropical plants featuring lush green leaves that naturally grow in moist environment with little light and they are beautiful decorative accents to your bathroom.

Bathroom Rug

Having a rug in your washroom has many benefits – they add a cosy spot for your feet in the mornings, introduce colour and design to a monotone room or neutralise a bathroom with busy tiles. These timeless textiles will inject a touch of glamour and convert this typically cold room into an attractive and sophisticated space. Modern bathroom design is centred around a simple, clean, minimalistic look and feel.

Geometric Patterns

Geometric patterns make any room stand out and attract the eyes. They also give a contemporary modern feel. If your bathroom has a very flat and dull design, geometric patterns on tiles and rugs can balance the visual of your space.

Windows

Windows are a vital architectural element of any bathroom. They allow in the fresh air and natural light, and they are a must if you would love your plants to thrive in the bathroom. By letting the natural light in, the whole space is brightened and enhancing the modern look.

Black and White

If you are looking for a chic modern new look to your bathroom, consider a black and white palette that feels fresh and stylish and goes beyond just using tile. You can have the color on your bath tub, cabinets, mirrors and even your crittall style doors. You want to have the overall aesthetic of your bathroom to feel both relaxing and clean, which is why a black and white scheme is the ideal selection.

Concrete Finishes

We love the raw, textural look that concrete bathrooms showcase. Even just a single concrete covered wall is enough to set the tone and create an industrial-inspired modern theme – or you could use it to create a contrast to more polished bathroom furniture and fittings.
